Join the Family...

CMR, in conjunction with American Solutions for Business and American Diversity Business Solutions, are actively seeking sales professionals across the nation.   This truly is your gateway to achieving the American Dream.

Opportunity and Ownership

If you are an experienced sales professional or small business owner offering business products and solutions, you owe it to yourself to consider this unique opportunity:

When you join American, you will have access to a complete business infrastructure, a national footprint, an extensive array of vendor alliances, and the pricing power of a large, multi-million dollar company.

•   If you are a seasoned sales pro, you can join our team either as an employee with access to free stock in our employee
stock ownership program (ESOP) or as an independent contractor. Both receive the most competitive compensation
    plan in the industry.
•   If you own a small business (or have what it takes to start one), by joining American you can leverage our infrastructure
and resources while still maintaining your ownership.

When you join American, you have access to the resources of both American Solutions for Business (ASB) and American Diversity Business Solutions (ADBS). Our story started in 1981, when ASB was founded, driven in large part by a passion for the American Dream. In 1992, to provide another solution for end-user customers, ADBS began. Today American is a nationwide leader in our industry with approximately $200 million in annual booked sales. Through our network of 6,000+ vendors, we are among the nation’s leaders of providing commercial printing, forms, labels and envelopes. In addition, American’s 500+ Sales Associates offer end-user customers unlimited options of quality promotional products, wearables, packaging, office supplies, computer supplies, janitorial supplies and warehousing services. Along with the variety of products, American provides a variety of eCommerce and strategic solutions.

What's in It for You

American started with the goal of "freeing the slaves". American felt sales professionals who were bound by contracts and non-competes in a maturing industry should have the ability at some time to be “free agents” in deciding with whom and where they would like to work. American’s vision was to provide the back office infrastructure (accounting, banking, legal, marketing, HR, IT, etc.), so that sales associates could focus on what they do best – selling!

Key points of American’s proposition:

•   American's commitment to provide sales associates with support services and the highest split in the industry, whether     the sales associate is an ESOP employee or independent contractor.
•   The sales associates maintain ownership of their business and autonomy:
As a sales associate you are able to pursue sales in the way that works for you, managing your strategies and time           yourself. Everything begins and ends with the face in the mirror.
As a sales associate, you make the decision on what identity or brand best suits the opportunity to sell your
          customers.
•   American does not tell you how to do business, instead, we are committed to be the most proactive and non-threatening     partner who asks "What do you need to be successful?"
•   You'll have access to a broad set of tools and resources, from a dedicated customer service rep, marketing to
eCommerce, warehousing and fulfillment to support you and your customer sales.
•   You'll have lots of options from which to choose as you create just the right solutions for your customers; not only do we
have relationships and buying power with 6,000+ vendors, but you'll also be able to take advantage of all of the diversity
advantages offered by ADBS (a Woman-owned Business Enterprise-WBE with Minority Business Enterprise-MBE
    relationships).
•   By utilizing American's services and buying power, we are confident you will make more money than tying up your equity     and resources in running your own business.
•   American prides itself in being like an "amoeba" constantly evolving and responding to the changes in the industry,
    products and customers.

In the words of ASB founder Larry Zavadil:

"American's success in the past and into the future will be based on its philosophy of treating the end-user customer #1, the sales associate #2, American's vendors #3 and American   #4. By doing things better, faster and the customer's way, American will be the low-cost provider of choice. By creating an environment where the sales associate maintains ownership with a degree of independence (but supports the network as a whole), and receives the lion's share of the profit (without any up-front investment), American will continue to attract and retain the best sales associates in the industry. By taking care of #1, #2 and #3, American will be able to grow to provide more support services, programs and stability for its network of sales associates.

We all need each other. Our success is a direct result of how well we work together in a 'win-win-win-win' relationship!"

Success Profile

There is no one model of experience and/or personality that describes everyone who has found success with American. However, a few traits that are strong indicators of potential success are:

•  Prior experience selling business solutions (forms, office supplies, promotional products, wearables, etc).
•  A strong entrepreneurial spirit, self motivation, and a high-energy drive to succeed.
•  Exceptional people skills, including the ability to develop and maintain relationships.
•  Good old fashioned common sense.
•  An inclination to say, "Yes we can" much, much more often than, "No we can't."
•  The ability to change with the industry and leverage the new tools such as today's social media to use in communicating
with end-user customers and each other.

We follow the culture of the American Dream and, even though we have almost 30 years behind us, we still consider ourselves pioneers in our industry. Like our country, America, American's doors are open: even if you have stumbled elsewhere in the industry, we want to hear from you -- it just may be that we are a much better fit for you than where you were before.

If you're looking to launch a career in sales, we have options for you through American's LIFE program.

Your Investment

If you join American as a sales professional, of course, there is no upfront investment. If you're interested in transitioning your business to retire or aligning your business with American, we have a solution for you and your employees which will free up your equity and improve your cash flow.

Your main investment will be a little time and effort in helping us understand your situation and how American could help you. American will bring you to the Home Office in Glenwood, Minnesota at our cost for you to see the tools and meet the people who will help you.

Keys to Success

The American Dream is not guaranteed for anybody. We'll expect you to work hard. Benjamin Franklin put it best when he said that the Declaration of Independence "only guarantees the American people the right to pursue happiness. You have to catch it yourself."

We offer an extensive array of resources, including peer networking; educational resources, events and conferences; virtual tools and advanced technology; individual CSR; warehousing and fulfillment services; GPO relationships; marketing tools and much more. But you'll need the initiative to take advantage of them. You'll enjoy a good deal of flexibility and autonomy, such as determining the product lines you want to sell and the customers you want to serve, but you'll need the discipline and drive to go out, find those customers, and pull it all together.
